From the outset our goal has been simple - to provide our customers with top quality galvanizing on time and at competitive prices.

The Galvanizing Department of Armco in Isando has been in operation since 1989, starting up with a 7.5 metres in length galvanizing kettle.

An upgration of this plant took place in 1996 to accommodate a kettle of 13.2 metres in length, which increased our average output to 2000 tons per month.
It also anabled us to galvanize heavy steel structures.

A white fume filtration and extraction system has been installed to filter smoke generated by the galvanizing process. This conforms to stringent EC standards. THere is no discharge of air-borne pollutants or toxins in the atmosphere.
Harmful acids are fully regenerated.

A second galvanizing facility were aquired during 1996 namely the Dunswart premises in Boksburg, we have 2 production lines running there. Difficult to handle small cast iron components are a speciality. This plant is geared upp to handle centrifugal and jobbing work efficiently.

Armco Galvanizers conforms to strict SABS ISO 9001-2000 as well as SABS ISO 1461 standards which ensures the products, and prides itself in maintaining these standards.

Membership of the Hot Dip Galvanising Association of South Africa as well as the South African Steel Institute of Construction provides customers with added peace of mind. Armco Galvanizers is actively involved within both these associations.

The Galvanizing Department of Armco consists of a Transport fleet including eight ton trucks as well as Horse and trailers, for the transportation of goods to and from the Galvanizer.

Hot Dip Galvanizing Awards

The Hot Dip Galvanizing Association of South Africa together with Industrelek hosts an annual Galvanizing Awards evening.
